Tricuspid Regurgitation Velocity and Mean Pressure Gradient for the Prediction of Pulmonary Hypertension According to the New Hemodynamic Definition

Background: The hemodynamic definition of PH has recently been revised with unchanged threshold peak tricuspid regurgitation velocity (TRV). aim this study was to evaluate the predictive accuracy TRV for based on new (>20 mmHg) and old (>25 cut-off value mean pulmonary artery pressure (mPAP) compare it right ventricular–right atrial (RV–RA) gradient. Methods: Patients advanced heart failure were screened from 2016 2021. exclusion criteria absent catheterization (RHC) results, chronic obstructive disease, any septal defect, inadequate acoustic window or undetectable TR. RV–RA gradient calculated velocity–time integral Results: included 41 patients; 34 (82.9%) had mPAP > 20 mmHg 24 (58.5%) 25 mmHg. AUC prediction 0.855 0.811. defined as 0.860 0.830. A cutoff 2.4 m/s 65% sensitivity 100% positive predicting according definition. Conclusions: Peak performed better than in irrespective definitions. similarly two definitions PH, but a lower higher equal PH.
